BJ Golnick is an accomplished writer, director, cinematographer, editor, and a graduate of the University of Miami's Motion Picture program. He balances shooting and directing for television with feature, commercial and music video work utilizing a diverse skill set to maximize his effect on the medium. From an early age, BJ has wanted to move people, to make them feel something from deep within.
Born in 1985 into a family that has been producing award-winning advertising and marketing projects for more than 60 years, his first trip overseas was while in his mother's womb, as his parents traveled to Israel, Lebanon and other Mid-East locales. BJ has continued to explore the world around him ever since, usually directing or serving as director of photography for such esteemed networks as the Discovery Channel, National Geographic, The Travel Channel, TLC, the History Channel, Animal Planet and many others who thirst for his keen sense of adventure. From Kenya and the Horn of Africa, to the jungles of Central and South America, to various islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, BJ's eye and ability have painted compelling stories for audiences across the globe. It's no secret why producers everywhere are attracted to his work and constantly seek him out.
Today, BJ continues to connect audiences with the world around them. He is currently director of the hit TLC show, ``Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.`` He has produced and directed multiple award-winning films, documentaries and music videos. Recently, he won ``Best Director`` at the Atlanta 48 Hour Film Project for his film, ``Strain.`` His short film/music video for OKGo, ``I'm Not Through`` won the Audience award out of thousands of entries. He is also currently in pre production on “Damage Day”, a novel adapted for film by Dylan Asher, which is projected to be his first feature-length directorial debut.
